Training

Our program is intended to mold around the horse, not molding the horse to our program.

At KPH we can help from working weanlings to colt starting and fine tuning to a finished partner. We believe that the starting process is the most important time in a horse’s life. By creating a solid foundation, your young horse will have a positive and trustful mindset, a willingness to learn and reliable direction that will carry through their lifetime. All breeds and riding disciplines are welcome. We have trained everything from cow ponies and mules to FEI Dressage horses and Grand Prix Hunter Jumpers.

Training Board

We require a minimum of 60 days.

With our training program here at KPH you can expect your horse to be worked 5 to 6 days a week, feeding two to three times a day, unlimited home-grown fescue hay, a stall and individualized turnout.Weekly lessons will be provided with the owner to showcase the progress of your horse and how to strengthen the bond and build confidence between you and your horse.

We have a great relationship with our local vet that provides 24/7 care. Our highly accomplished farrier comes every 5 weeks and can add your horse in training to the schedule.

Please plan to book in advance! We typically book a few months out.

Haul-In Training Lessons

We book a select amount of lessons each week including haul ins. Although these are open to anyone, this is a great option for continuing education upon completion of our training program. Both Will and Kim offer these services. Weekly haul-in lessons are $65/hour, a la carte lessons are $75/hour.

Colt Starting Academy

In Spring of 2024, KPH launched the Colt Starting Academy. Enroll in a 90 day colt starting semester where you will be partnered with a young horse owned by KPH and guided through each step of the colt starting process. This program is an all hands on deck, educational opportunity that is intended for aspiring equestrians. We hope to offer this program annually and will only have a few spots based on availability of horses.
